What it is
The Encode Lever brings the Encode's Wi-Fi keypad access control to lever-handle doors — offices, interior doors and secondary entrances rather than a front-door deadbolt.
Connectivity
Wi-Fi only, like the Encode deadbolt, and equally unable to join Apple Home. Reachable through Schlage's cloud API (AWS Cognito auth), which is how the Home Assistant integration works; it polls lock state every 30 seconds. The matrix row below is the shared Encode row (BE488/BE489).
What the official app can do
- Lock, unlock and read status remotely over Wi-Fi
- Create and manage access codes and read lock history
- Drive the official Apple Watch app — it supports the Encode deadbolt and lever
What it can't do
- Join Apple Home, so no Siri, Home Key or Home automations
- Expose actions to Shortcuts
